Begin again
Happy spring!
It’s been a bit since my last post and the topic of today’s post touches on that in between time a bit - the transition - the void - beginning again.
Starting with the energy of moving from winter into spring… I am feeling the outward shift. In the winter, we focus on the slow and steady growth underneath the surface. I was focused on going inside - resting with myself - setting intentions to carry me through the full year. I was planting seeds living in a new city and determining who I get to ~be~ here. We can imagine this as the fertile void beneath the surface that is cultivating the seeds of our intentions. We water and nourish those seeds underground, knowing what they might become in the springtime. In the spring, we are invited to shift from the inward-focus to a more outward-focused way of being. The spring holds more masculine and action-oriented energy. We put structure to our intentions and put them out into the world - this is what I get to ~do~. As we begin to notice the small sprouts poking through the ground, we are filled with hope and renewal - what was growing and being refined underneath the surface is beginning to take form. We’re outwardly aware of the beauty. AND we’re reminded that it’s been there all along! The beauty comes from within. The potential is now being seen visibly, but has been stirring beneath the surface for months. Let’s also remember the discomfort and effort involved, although natural, that is required for this sprout to break through the barrier of earth to rise above the surface. This is true for us. In order to grow, to step into a new version of ourselves, to rise to new heights; we must break through our own barriers. We are invited to have uncomfortable conversations, to speak our truth, to stand up for what we believe in, to carve a new path, etc.
This transition has been more potent for me amidst moving to a new city and I’m grateful to have the resources and support of coaches, friends, and family to encourage me this winter season and into the spring season. Whether you know you’re one of those people or not, I am grateful for you!
It feels divinely timed and I feel inspired to connect the spring, Easter, and eclipse seasons that we’ve had over the past few weeks:
The official start of spring on March 19th.
The lunar eclipse in Libra on March 25th.
The celebration of Easter on March 31st.
The solar eclipse in Aries on April 8th.
The spring season is a sign of hope, new life, inspiration, and new beginnings. Easter is a celebration of Resurrection Sunday - Jesus rose from the dead three days after his crucifixion. This is a sign of hope, eternal life, inspiration, and salvation!
Eclipse seasons are always powerful times if we choose to allow them to enhance our growth and potential. I started learning about lunar cycles and the associated energies about 4 years ago. I love to see if there are parallels in my unique, personal energy and life circumstances with the collective energy. It is so interesting to me to better understand myself and the order of God’s creation, particularly the cycles of nature.
This particular eclipse season felt very powerful to me. Perhaps because it spanned over the Easter season in which I was traveling, but my energy was certainly affected. I felt more tired than usual. I felt drained. I also felt excited. I felt grateful. I felt abundant. The dichotomy of energy and feelings is always so cool to witness! They are not energies in conflict, but in conversation. So I made sure to use many of the practices from this winter season in supporting my energy; to keep my energy grounded, stable, and clear. The transition from winter to spring can and should be a gradual one. I am working on honoring this more this year as I can tend to want to hit the ground running and go, go, go! If you’re anything like me, allow this to be your permission to slow down; continue to tune into what you really want and need. And coming off the total solar eclipse yesterday, is the invitation to begin again.
Jill Wintersteen, founder of Spirit Daughter, and a key teacher in my lunar cycle studies over the past 4 years wrote some incredible quotes that I’d like to share here:
“Once you begin, you often need to begin again.”
“Once you’ve found the courage to begin something, you can always find that same motivation within you.”
“It’s natural to start something two, three, or even four times. It may just be a matter of timing.”
When I spent time journaling on the solar eclipse, I was reminded that this is what I am doing. I am beginning again. I am making a shift, trusting the process, and enjoying the process! That’s what we all get to do. The support of the collective energy is here for you this season. Try something new. Begin again. Don’t be afraid to fail - actually that’s the beauty of being a beginner. We get to try; and try again.
This is my commitment to you: messy action. I am beginning again and I am committed to sharing more of who I am and my process. I might make mistakes as I go and that’s how I will learn. I want to be bold, courageous, and more of myself here with you :) I love you and thank you for letting me be me.
