Faith

Hebrews 11:1 provides a definition of faith: “Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” God calls us to trust in Him. Walk with God in the unknown.

God’s Peace + our Faith: God doesn’t always take us out of our valleys, but He will always bring us through them. We find peace and rest knowing that He’s got us. He equips us with everything that we need to accomplish His mission for our life. It’s often in the unknown that God shows us the most powerful revelations about who He is and who we are. We can still trust and rest in our good God during life’s challenges. We can exhibit faith during our own valleys, our rock bottoms, our storms, and our downpours. It is this kind of faith that pleases our God.

Faith = only enough light to know the next step

Entrust oneself wholly to God and believe absolutely what he says. Believe in God. And believe God.

James 1:2-3 tells us, “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.” When we are faithful through difficulties, we open the door for God to do amazing things through us. It’s important to trust that God can and will use our work to build character, strengthen us, and ultimately produce results we could never have achieved otherwise. He gives us the abundance we are searching for. Our job is to trust Him.

Faith is a gift of God, a supernatural virtue infused by him. Faith is the beginning of eternal life. We have the freedom to choose faith. Freedom is the power to do what I ought to do, not doing whatever I want to do. God has a plan and His plan is much better and greater than my own. Let go and let God.

What do you need to let go of and surrender to God?

Faith affirmations

I believe in God.

I trust in Jesus.

I need the Holy Spirit.

We are constantly in need of renewal and conversion.

Faith is a personal adherence of the whole man to God who reveals himself. It involves an assent of the intellect and will to the self-revelation God has made through his deeds and words. (CCC 176)

Faith is a supernatural gift from God. In order to believe, man needs the interior help of the Holy Spirit. (CCC 179)

Faith is necessary for salvation.

“Faith is a foretaste of the knowledge that will make us blessed in the life to come” - St. Thomas Aquinas (CCC 184).

“Faith gives us the certainty that God would not permit an evil if he did not cause a good to come from that very evil, by ways that we shall fully know only in eternal life.” (CCC 324)

When we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we do so on faith! We trust in the Word of God and are filled with the Holy Spirit.

Faith becomes the standard of knowing God and seeing Him transform our hearts and lives

Know this; faith is not the absence of doubt, faith is trusting Jesus in the midst of our doubts. Doubts are not sinful and do not mean you are unfaithful. In fact, choosing to follow Jesus in the midst of your doubts can be the most faithful thing of all.

Always here for you…
